Vivid 2018

We have been looking forward to this year's Vivid festival. The team gains a lot of inspiration from the spectacular event and we have commissioned artists who have had their works in show for installations at our events.

This year, among many other exhibits, will feature one of the biggest puppets ever made in Australia, a giant drumming octopus, a bar with a lie detector and 290 multimedia light sculptures that will illuminate Taronga zoo.

An element we love about the festival is the audience participation.  The light installations that are interactive and encourage visitors to get tactile, make some noise and create a reaction. These are usually the ones that are shared most on social, start conversations and make a lasting impact on festival goers. Last year more than 2.33 million people came to see the festival, injecting some $143 million into the economy. Vivid turns 10 this year, so we expect an extraordinary display of art, light, ideas and technology.

The festival starts today and ends 16 June. See you there!
